Environmental Policy Statement

1. Recognition

 

The senior management of Redland Industrial Services (Arabia) Ltd (RISAL) recognize their moral and legal obligations to protect the environment, prevent pollution, safeguard ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and to use resources sustainably. RISAL understands the importance of working closely with all interested parties necessary to achieve these aims.

RISAL understands that effective, & continual improvement in, environmental management contributes to improved business performance by minimizing loss, enhancing business reputation and assisting in assuring business longevity. RISAL has firmly established the principal that “environmental excellence is good for our business”.

2. RISAL’s Objectives are:

 

  1. To establish, implement, maintain and continually improve an environmental management system (EMS) to meet the requirements of ISO 14001:2015.

  2. To provide an overarching framework for establishing and meeting compliance obligations, and to set/manage environmental objectives.

  3. To ensure a systemic approach is taken

  4. To meet, & where possible exceed identified compliance obligations.

  5. To make necessary information available, & to work with all clients, suppliers, contractors & other interested parties to safeguard the environment

  6. To minimize the potential for environmental failure and thus reduce costs.

  7. To involve employees at all levels & instill a positive culture of continual improvement.

  8. To instill a management culture that trains & educates to improve standards

  9. To positively promote good environmental performance to maximize business.

  10. To apply necessary benchmarks to verify objectives are being achieved

  11. To monitor and review environmental performance and the EMS as often as is necessary to ensure adequacy and to verify continual improvement is being attained.

 

3. RISAL’s Commitments are:

 

  1. To provide adequate resources to ensure all workplaces, facilities, agents, plant, equipment & systems are controlled to minimize risk.

  2. To eliminate/ control significant risk and maximize any positive environmental benefits

  3. To proactively cooperate with all interested parties on environmental issues

  4. To communicate the policy, or relevant parts thereof, to employees & other interested parties, thereby ensure all are aware of their roles, responsibilities & relevant controls

  5. To ensure the policy is monitored, maintained & improved by proactive and reactive monitoring.

  6. To establish root causes of incidents & to take appropriate action.

  7. To promote the reporting of incidents (including near misses) & a “no blame culture”

  8. To give employees the right to stop work, where there is a genuine belief that the environment is in a serious and imminent risk of harm.

  9. To ensure two-way communication at all levels & establish review meetings

  10. To ensure resources are targeted at areas where maximum benefit can be achieved.
